Lone Star Flow started with one truck, one plumber, and one rule: do right by the customer and the business will take care of itself. Seventeen years later, that rule hasn't changed.

How It Started

In 2007, James Whitfield was tired of watching customers get overcharged and under-served by the big national chains. He'd spent 12 years as a journeyman plumber across Texas — enough time to know that most plumbing companies cared more about selling add-ons than fixing the actual problem.

So he bought two used Ford Econolines, loaded them with tools, and started knocking on doors in Arlington. The pitch was simple: show up on time, explain the problem in plain English, give an honest price, and do the job right the first time. Word spread fast.

Within three years, Lone Star Flow had ten trucks and a waiting list. Today, the company runs 30+ service vehicles across every corner of the DFW Metroplex — but the approach hasn't changed. Every technician still follows the same four rules James wrote on a whiteboard in his garage back in 2007.

2007

James Whitfield launches Lone Star Flow with two trucks out of Arlington, TX.

2010

Expanded to 10 technicians. Earned first BBB A+ rating.

2014

Opened a 6,000 sq ft training facility in Arlington for hands-on technician certification.

2017

Fleet grows to 20 vehicles. Added water damage restoration division.

2020

Responded to the February ice storm — 1,200+ emergency calls in 72 hours.

2023

50+ technicians, 30+ trucks, serving every city in the DFW Metroplex.

James started Lone Star Flow in 2007 after 12 years working for large plumbing companies across Texas. He holds a TX Master Plumber license and personally trains every new technician at the Arlington facility.

Operations Manager

Maria keeps the fleet running and the schedule tight. She coordinates dispatch for 50+ technicians across the Metroplex and makes sure every customer gets a callback within the hour.

Lead Estimator & Water Damage Specialist

Derek leads the water damage restoration division and handles complex estimates for repiping, slab leak repair, and insurance-related work. IICRC certified in water damage restoration.
